The Nottinghamshire County Show 2026 was a standout moment for Just Talk Agri, a chance to bring our message directly to the people who keep British agriculture moving. Held at Newark Showground, the event drew farmers, families, students, rural businesses, and supporters from across the county, creating a vibrant atmosphere where tradition, innovation, and community spirit came together. For us, it was an opportunity to make mental health visible, approachable, and part of everyday conversation within the rural sector.

Our 15×15 metre stand became a welcoming hub throughout the day, designed not just as an exhibition space but as a place where people could pause, talk, and feel heard. Surrounded by livestock rings, machinery displays, and trade stands, our presence served as a reminder that wellbeing is just as essential to the future of farming as technology and education. Visitors stopped by to pick up resources, learn about support pathways, and speak openly about the pressures they face, from long working hours and financial strain to isolation and generational expectations. Many shared personal stories, offering insight into the challenges behind the scenes of rural life and reinforcing why our work matters.

The show also gave us the chance to highlight our partnerships with trusted rural organisations, each playing a vital role in supporting farmers and agricultural workers. Through leaflets, conversations, and signposting, we helped visitors understand where they can turn when things feel overwhelming, and how early intervention can make a real difference. Younger attendees, including agricultural college students and new entrants, engaged with our content on recognising signs of struggle, supporting peers, and navigating the pressures of starting out in the industry. Their enthusiasm and openness showed just how important it is to reach the next generation early, equipping them with knowledge and confidence that previous generations often didn’t have access to.

Throughout the day, our team connected with exhibitors, industry leaders, and rural organisations, strengthening relationships that help us extend our reach across the sector. These conversations not only broadened our network but also deepened our understanding of the evolving challenges facing the agricultural community. Every interaction, whether a quick chat or a longer discussion, contributed to our mission of normalising mental‑health conversations and ensuring no one feels they have to face difficult moments alone.
